The Butterbean

When thinking of New Year’s resolutions, Zach and I decided that we were going to support the local restaurants and businesses on the square in Gallatin. (We started the new year out at the Whippoorwill with a great dinner and band.) The square was one of our favorite things about this town and we want to see the restaurants and shops do well.

Even though I try to cook and save money, we pledged to go out to eat on the square at least once a week. Having a nice downtown square is so valuable. Last week we went to the Whippoorwill and Grecians for Dinner and then to Govan’s for a massage on Friday night. (A great way to end a work week!)

On Saturday, my parents came over for lunch and  we went to some of the stores on the square. If you are ever in Gallatin be sure to check out   Country Mouse- City Mouse. Tina, the  owner, told us about the Butterbean and we couldn’t wait to try it out!

For lunch on Tuesday, Zach and I ran down to grab a bite at the Butterbean! I told Zach that it was a vegetarian restaurant and he told me to bring some bacon bits in my purse. Ha! I can go without meat but I think it is a man thing where they feel like they have to have meat in every meal. When Zach and I met I had been a vegetarian for 2 years, but when I was taken to a NASCAR race with all boys who were in charge of bringing food, I didn’t have much choice.

The Butterbean Bakery & Bistro

Everything at the Butterbean is Gluten Free and either Vegan or Vegetarian. The menu changes every day. When we were there they had 2 soups, 2 panini choices and different sides. (and lots of wonderful looking desserts!)

The restaurant is absolutely adorable …

and the food is out of this world!

They also sell local honey and coffee.

Support your local restaurants and shops!!!
