Tupelo Honey

Not only do I love Tupelo Honey but I love the song by Van Morrison. Our first dance was to the song and it is (and always will be) one of my favorites. One of our favorite restaurants is Tupelo Honey Cafe in Asheville, North Carolina. If you are ever in the area you must go!!! I also just learned that they are opening one in Knoxville in the historic Oliver Hotel. Tupelo Honey Cafe is a farm to fork restaurant where as many ingredients as possible are local.

The Tupelo Honey Cafe cookbook

On our way home from Hickory we stopped in for lunch and it was as good as always! Sometimes we even call it in to go when we are in a hurry to get home. We always start out with the hot pimento cheese dip and it never disappoints. We have tried to come up with the recipe but never could get it right. So I was SO excited when we got to the restaurant and they now have a cookbook with ALL of their recipes! It was the first cookbook I couldn’t put down! It was so well written and interesting full of local history and beautiful pictures. I have read the whole 230 page cookbook and can’t wait to try all of the recipes.

With every meal they also bring out made from scratch biscuits with Tupelo Honey and fresh blueberry preserves.

Zach and I each ordered a sandwich and then split them. It was so much food we brought home leftovers for dinner.

We even got a great seat on the covered patio which was nice because it was a beautiful day.

I would love to hear if you have ever been (or ever go!) What did you love about it?

  1. I just love a good cookbook! I just ordered the Tupelo Honey Cookbook and I can’t wait to make the hot pimento cheese dip when I get my book.

      1. When I ordered the cookbook the cover looked to be yellow but on your blog it looked green. What color is your book?
