In the Kitchen

I found a perfect recipe for St. Patrick’s day when going through Zach’s grandmother’s and mother’s recipes while we were in Hickory. I made it tonight and it was pretty good and very easy!

Ginny sure liked to cook~ this wasn't even all of her recipes!

Irish Stew

1 1/2 lbs of ground beef (pour off grease and place in a 3qt. casserole dish)

4 potatoes chopped to bite size

2 onions- chopped

1 can cream of tomato soup

1 can cream of mushroom soup

1 1/2 teaspoons of salt

Cover casserole and bake at 400 degrees for 1 hour 15 min. Stir twice (or 3 times) while baking. Enjoy!

Another thing I wanted to share 🙂

This week at Aldi’s they are having a great produce sale. I went last night and got some great stuff. (and 2 of the ingredients you need for the recipe above) You can see the full list here from Faithful Provisions.

Strawberries $.99 (The strawberries at our Aldi’s are the exact same as the Organic ones at Kroger that are $4.59 a container!)

Broccoli, 16 oz – $0.89

Carrots, 3 lb bag – $0.39

Cauliflower – $0.89

Red Potatoes, 5 lb bag – $0.99

Yellow Onions, 3 lb bag – $0.39

Cabbage – $0.59

Pineapples- $0.99

They also have eggs for $0.69 a dozen!

Did anyone else see the rainbow tonight? The sky was so beautiful! (a lot clearer and prettier in person!)

I also wanted to say how excited I am about my new garbage disposal! My husband has spent all evening installing one. It has been over 6 years since I have had one. It is the small things 🙂 (THANK YOU, Zach!)

Tomorrow is Friday! Looking forward to the weekend.
